In July Microsoft released Silverlight 3.0 to the world. Silverlight 3.0 goes beyond pretty spinning boxes and HD video streaming. This is the first release that targets software developers building line of business (LOB) applications on the web. In this keynote we will review what is new for the developer including: building out of browser applications, assembly caching, local file access and the network API. We'll take a look at the Silverlight toolkit and its data aware controls and how to hook Silverlight into Astoria and RESTful data. We'll conclude with a peek into the future of n-tier business applications with a look at RIA Services.
